Synopsis

A meditation on ritual and rhythm in South America, Pricilla Telmon and Vincent Moon's Híbridos, The Spirits of Brazil is the result of three years' research into the diverse religious rituals of Brazil. Studying ceremonies from various factions throughout the country, the film documents the ethereal relationship its inhabitants have with trance and rhythm, spanning religion, family, commerce and spirituality. Sacred rituals take place against the backdrop of beautiful Brazilian landscapes, providing the backbone for a breathtaking cinematic experience where trance, ecstasy, music, apparitions and spirituality are uniquely connected as one.
