Synopsis

We begin with Tyler, whose mundane life quickly uproots itself through his anger and indulgence and...something else. Struggling with his past, Tyler is pushed to his limits by The Haunting - humanoid in figure but not from this world - which seeps into Tyler's mind ultimately killing him. Then the camera zooms out. We have been watching a film within a film. Now, we "begin" with Lincoln a present-day, up-and-coming filmmaker who has just been honored at a film festival. He must now navigate the following steps after the success of his debut film; Accompany, starring actor Fletcher Rhodes. Lincoln employs the help of Sloane Anderson, a manager in the industry who vows to get Accompany on the big screen, while he also maintains the bill-paying job of being a school janitor. Everyone loves Accompany, from Lincoln's manager, to the distributors she's hired (Gordon and Felicity), to the interviewer she arranged with Serenity Jones. While on "Live at 5," Lincoln is overcome with terror as he faces a close encounter with his Haunting. Even George, his roommate loves the film. Everyone except for Lincoln. In order for Lincoln to continue with his life, he must figure out how to move on from his film. Unfortunately, it won't let him, no matter how hard he tries. Through flashbacks to his upbringing, we start to see just why Lincoln is the way that he is. As the story unfolds, the line between reality and fiction blends as Lincoln finds himself the main character in his own film; being tormented by the very thing his mind created.
